We should encourage as many people as possible to attend the trial on the day that Justice Watt delivers his verdict in the Bottineau/Kidman trial.

There will be a lot of media present when the Judge brings down his verdict and whatever the outcome is for the accused, we should organize a public demonstration outside the courthouse that day DEMANDING that CCAS be held accountable for their role in this sad affair.

That sounds like a good plan. Also, good news in the news today that the first degree murder charges will stand.

A Glimmer of Hope!

In today's Globe and Mail, Christie Blatchford reports that the Ontario Ombudsman, Andre MArin appeared before the Government's Standing Committe on Social Policy, asking for the power to investigate Children's Aid Societies.

"Mr Marin cited the notorius Jeffrey Baldwin case as an example of his Office's powerlessness".

The article also quotes Mr. Marin "I think the Committee was stunned to realize that the CASs, despite receiving a billion dollars in taxpayers money, run themselves without any independent oversight... Mr Marin went on to charactarize the agency (CCAS) as having in effect 'facilitated' the harsh and degrading conditions in which Jeffrey was kept". Bingo!

Thanks Amanda for bringing this matter to the attention of the Ombudsman.

Momentum is building for a full inquiry into the CCAS and their role in Jeffrey's death. Let's kep up the pressure!

Now is the time to find new energy and renewed hope in acheiving Justice for Jeffrey.

Does anyone know when the last trial date is scheduled?

Yes, it seems as if someone is finally paying attention and about time. I'm going to write the Ont Ombudsman and thank him for his effort, encourage him to keep up the good work...

I will be there......it will receive a fair amount of media attention but if the "Jonathan trial" is on half the media will be there.

The Jonathan trial has had more public interest from the first day...there was hardly any seats available! It seems the public likes blood and gore more.

Unfortunate because Jeffrey's trial is much more important really.....we are talking about the protectors not protecting.

Last trial date????? The witnesses are not yet finished...this will be going on well after christmas...maybe into the spring.

Judge Watt seems to lost control of his courtroom in my opinion.
